Rosé and the City

SJP!!

I'm a big Sex and the City fan, so naturally, I had to turn on an episode and open a bottle when I found out Sarah Jessica Parker has her own wine. I had to try it and you should too.

Maybe I’ve been living under a rock, but discovering her collaboration with Invivo was such a fun surprise. Turns out she has a full line of wines, but I went for her French rosé, partly because I’ve been slacking on my rosé reviews.

This bottle came to $34 (a little more than I usually spend), but still reasonable for a quality rosé. The blend is made up of 45% Cinsault, 45% Grenache, and 10% Syrah—all red grapes. It pours a gorgeous blush pink, which tells me the grape skins weren’t left on too long during winemaking (classic rosé technique).

If you like dry rosé with a some earthy undertones, this one’s worth a sip. It’s super crisp and refreshing, with notes of red berries, citrus (like tangerine), and a light floral hint. It leans more dry and slightly salty than fruity, finishing clean with a mineral edge.

A little backstory: Rob Cameron and Tim Lightbourne, the founders of Invivo, reached out to Sarah Jessica Parker back in 2019 to collaborate on a wine line under their brand. Invivo, meaning “in life,” was founded in 2007 with the idea that wine is meant to be shared and always a part of life-at the dinner table, with the people you love. That message really resonates with why I started getting into wine in the first place.

I love that her bottles feature a hand-painted “X,” on the label—a nod to how she signs off on correspondence (mail, letters, emails, etc) “X, SJP.” It’s such a personal touch and makes the wine feel like a little gift from her.

The SJP x Invivo lineup includes; a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, a Southern France Rosé and a New Zealand Pinot Noir.

I even watched a clip of Sarah Jessica talking about her wine, and she mentioned that it’s perfect with a slice of pizza. Honestly, I totally agree. With its bright acidity and dry finish, it would pair really well with something cheesy and a little greasy.

Check out their wines and more.

I also watched this fun at home wine tasting with SJP & the co-founders.

Something crisp that pairs well with a cheesy pizza, sign me up! Sounds like the perfect sip to end the week on.

I love a dry red and usually lean towards a sweeter rosé, but your recommendations never fail - so I’ll definitely be trying this one next time I get a slice!!
